Beverly Melian began her teaching career working as a Special Education Resource teacher at McCullough Intermediate School in Highland Park, Texas. While at McCullough, Beverly worked one on one with students with a focus on developing social skills. Beverly also received the 2006 Special Recognition Award for High Standards and Quality Work.
An opportunity soon became available to teach in a general education classroom with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas. Beverly accepted the challenge in order to gain experience working with both Special Education and General Education students. It was at this time, Beverly became interested in School Counseling. She began taking graduate courses and received her MA in School Counseling in 2011.
After being a classroom teacher for 10 years, Beverly is excited about joining the Dallas Academy team. She is looking forward to meeting and working with the students, parents, and staff. Her focus is to serve the students and to positively enhance their educational experience at Dallas Academy.
When not at work, Beverly enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
