Dallas Academy is excited to announce an Evening with the Candidates. On Tuesday, May 10th at 7:00pm, Dallas Academy will be welcoming the 2011 Dallas mayoral candidates to campus.
This informative evening is sponsored by the Peninsula Neighborhood Association, Lakewood Trails Neighborhood Association, and Merriman Park-University Manor Neighborhood Association and will take place in the Donald Center at Dallas Academy. Former Dallas police chief David Kunkle, Dallas City Council member Ron Natinsky, local businessman Edward Okpa, and Dallas Park Board chairman Mike Rawlings will be in attendance to discuss their vision for the future of Dallas.
The evening will begin at 7:00 with brief updates from the sponsoring neighborhood associations. Following the neighborhood news, the mayoral forum will officially begin. Each candidate will be provided time to address the audience with an opening statement. Following the opening statements, the candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions pre-submitted by members of the audience. If you have a question you would like to ask the candidates, please plan to arrive a few minutes early to fill out a question card. At the end of the question and answer portion of the evening, there will be time for closing statements from each candidate. Please plan to stay for light refreshments at the end of the forum and mingle with the candidates and members of the east Dallas community.
Friends of Dallas Academy are welcomed and encouraged to attend this discussion. We at Dallas Academy are very excited about this wonderful opportunity to hear from the candidates before the May 14th election. We look forward to learning more about each candidate’s goals and vision for the city.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this upcoming mayoral forum. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, May 10th.
